taking the helm
Jonathan Zungre has taken over the helm as our new Pavel
Chekov on "
Star Trek: Phase II," beginning with the
episode "Enemy: Starfleet".

Jonathan has embraced the character and is dedicated to
portraying this multi-dimensional character with a
reverence in his performance that will strike fans as
nothing shorter than thundering velvet.

His insightful and talented portrayal honors our Russian
navigator for who he is, and who we've always known him to
be. The first moment with Jonathan's unexpected
performance will leave fans breathless.

This, folks... is Chekov.

The only thing missing is Walter Koenig.
And we do miss him!

We'd like to thank Mr. Zungre for all his help and support!
Jonathan Zungre's Biography

Born on January 4, 1982 in Concord, New Hampshire, Jonathan soon traveled to Amsterdam,
Holland with his parents on missionary work. When they returned to the United States and took
up residence in Pittsburg, PA, 4 year old Jonathan spoke fluent Dutch...which he promptly forgot.

Jonathan attended private Christian grammer schools and Pittsburg public high school. After
graduating from High School his family moved to New York City to support his younger sister
Stephanie's career with the New York City Ballet. He went on to earn a degree from Grove City
College and has taken courses at NYU in directing and filmmaking. Following college, Jonathan
participated in a missionary trip to Japan, China and Thailand where he taught English and did
street ministry in what he describes as "the best years of my life."

Jonathan always wanted to be an entertainer and first appeared on stage in 7th grade, later
appearing in many high school and college performances. He has appeared in off-off Broadway
theatre, commercials and independent films; and is currently a host for RipTen, and internet
video game website.  As a writer, Jonathan penned a one-act play, "Cut Short", about teen
suicide, which appeared in the Riant Theater Strawberry One Act Festival in 2007; and he
writes for the comedy website irony.com as well as blogging for several game sites.

A understated man with a quiet sense of right and boundless dedication, Jonathan is a steadying
presence; and his boundless sense of fun and quick sense of humor makes him a  perfect choice
to play our favorite navigator.
("Cut Short" is).. a powerful play
about a teenage girl who's life is
cut short because she doesn't see
another other way to deal with
her depression over the breakup
from her boy friend. The play
serves as a wake up call and
enforces the need for all of us to
be aware of the early signs of
depression and how to seek help
for people who suffer from this
sometimes debilitating affliction.
